Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis’s wife, Amruta Fadnavis on the occasion of ‘World Book Day’ (April 23) unveiled the book ‘Shayraaz’ at Hotel Le Meridien, Nagpur. The book, which is a collection of shayaris, has been written by former Nagpur radio jockey RJ Raj and has been edited by Shweta Lalwani. While Amruta’s presence was itself a delight for the people present, she made the evening more special for everybody when she obliged RJ Raj’s request and crooned the popular song ‘Tum Hi Ho’ along with the young Nagpur singer Abhishek Jhawar. Needless to say, the performance got a huge round of applause from everybody.
Post the performance, Shayraaz was unveiled by Amruta in the presence of RJ Raj and his family, Dr Anup Marar, Rupesh Kumar and Sneha Tasgaonkar. After the launch, a video was played wherein celebrities like Sonali Kulkarni, Mrinal Kulkarni, Javed Ali, RJ Pritam and Rekha Bharadwaj gave best wishes to RJ Raj for the book. Interestingly, half of the proceeds from the sales of Shayraaz will be utilised for the sake of farmers in the region, a move which was very much appreciated by the first lady of Maharashtra.
