Aruna Reddy scripts history, becomes first Indian to win an individual medal in Gymnastics World Cup

22-year-old Aruna Reddy, on Saturday, created history by becoming the first ever Indian gymnast to win an individual medal in the Gymnastics World Cup.

22-year-old Aruna Budda Reddy, on Saturday, created history by becoming the first ever Indian gymnast to win an individual medal in the Gymnastics World Cup. Aruna Reddy won the Bronze medal in the women’s vault at the Gymnastics World Cup in Melbourne, Australia.

Reddy, who basically hails from Hyderabad, scored 13.649 points to win the Bronze medal. Tjasa Kysslef from Slovania and Emily Whitehead from Australia won the Gold and Silver medal by scoring 13.800 and 13.699 points respectively. Another Indian gymnast, Pranati Nayak, scored 13.416 points and finished at the sixth place.
