5 students including PI’s daughter gets killed in car accident on Nagpur-Amravati highway

Five students, including Crime branch senior police inspector RD Nikam’s daughter, out of eight, got killed in a car accident on Nagpur-Amravati highway on Friday, February 16. The students, who belonged to Hislop College, had reportedly gone for a casual drive in their friend Vishal Ratwani’s car (Maruti Ertiga MH40 AC 9209).

Vishal, who was the behind the wheels, succumbed to grave injuries and died on the spot. Others identified are Dheeraj Pathade, Divya Paku, Nisha Nikam and Satya Singh. However, apart from the five, two boys were rushed to Meditrina Hospital and one girl was rushed to a hospital in Wadi.

According to various reports, the car, which was damaged beyond recognition, rammed into a truck, which was parked near by. Wadi police is probing the incident and the bodies of the deceased have been sent to Mayo Hospital for post mortem.
