The Commissioner of Police (CP) of Nashik Ravindra Singhal has ordered an inquiry against police officers, who as per reports, recently attended the wedding of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s niece. Not just cops, even MLAs, ministers and corporators are believed to have attended the wedding, which took place in an upmarket mall in Nashik. Reportedly, the policemen were invited the clerics. However, the CP informed that though he couldn’t confirm the same, has agreed that invitations were sent to local politicians.

“The groom is said to be the son of a former local corporator. Hence, the local leaders were invited. The officials of Bhadrakali Police Station, which is located in old Nashik, received the invitations,” told the CP to PTI.

According to various sources in the police department, it has been said that an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) has also attended the wedding function.

Singhal further added, “Statements of the police officials, who are believed to have attended the function, are being recorded. Since some of the officers are on leave, the internal inquiry would around take two days.”
