The city traffic department is harnessing the power of social media (Whatsapp and Twitter) to register the complaints from citizens and is sending e-challans to the traffic violators. A user on Twitter while tagging the Nagpur Traffic Police’s official handle complained about a car wrongly parked. The police took swift action and instantly prepared an e-challan for the traffic violator.
Even though the Twitter handle and Whatsapp helpline number of the Nagpur Traffic police was launched in July 2017, it is only from the last few months that the complaints received on social media are being dealt with very swiftly and smoothly. Kudos, to Nagpur Traffic Police for adapting with the changing times thereby helping the citizens in a huge way one tweet at a time!
