As per a report in Times Now, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Padmavat, which was banned in Rajasthan by CM Vasundhara Raje on Monday, will now be banned in Himachal Pradesh as well. The reprts further states that the newly-formed government in Himachal Pradesh has apparently banned the film because of pressure from fringe groups.

Times Now, quoted Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur saying, “I don’t want to say much. We will discuss what to do. The film, indeed, is a controversial one. I respect art but when it comes to people’s sentiments getting hurt, it must be thought about and discussed.”

Some days back, Padmavat, which was originally called Padmavati, was cleared by CBFC (Censor Board of Film Certification) by granting the film a U/A certificate. The film, however, still remains a subject of controversy in the country.
