When his song ‘Allah ke Bande’ was released and picturised on him in the movie ‘Waise bhi Hota Hain II’ in 2003, it made Kailash Kher a household name and a singing star overnight! After that, there was looking back. In the last 13 years Kailash Kher has sung and composed several memorable songs which are a treat to music lovers and his fans across the globe. In spite of all the success, Kailash Kher still is the man who he was before he achieved success: Calm, humble and simple!

Apart from being a sensational singer, Kailash Kher is a responsible citizen who believes in bring a change through his music. While he composed the song, ‘Amar Tak Yahi Naad Gunjega’ for Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement, he has also given his voice to a song for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat campaign.

Nation Next caught up with the melodious singer in Nagpur when he visited the city to perform at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender recently. In a relaxed Dialogue @ Nation Next, Kailash spoke at length about his musical journey, his simple demenour, the recent demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
