Major fire mishap took place at Japanese Garden at Seminary Hills today in the evening. One of the onlookers told Nation Next, “Initially, we didn’t realise the enormity of the fire but when it started spreading, we realised its magnitude. We then immediately informed the police.”

While the reason behind the massive fire breakout is still unknown, many passersby blamed the scorching heat for the sudden fire. A visibly shocked near-by resident told Nation Next, “The dried leaves in the woods caught fire, which led to the massive fire. Within a span of four hours, the garden was on fire. But thankfully, the fire was brought under control.”

Around five fire brigade tenders reached the spot to douse the fire and bring the situation under control. The police too ensured safety of the people by traffic diversion as they had temporarily closed the near-by roads.

No casualties have been reported yet. Further details are awaited.
