Nagpurians savoured Mexican food during Mexican Street food fest at LAD college

This winter season, the Hotel Management and Catering Department of LAD College, was back with Mexican Street food fest, (Mexican theme based fest) to rejoice Mexican food lovers in the city. It was held on December 18, 2016, at Basketball Ground, LAD College, Seminary Hills, Nagpur.

Twenty final year students of LAD College, Nagpur, prepared around 20 Mexican dishes. Not just food, one also enjoyed some amazing Mexican dance performances too. Singer Swapnil Shivarkar who has performed more than 400 singing shows all over India, too made the evening memorable. LAD’s primary reason for celebrating Mexican culture is to promote overseas multi cuisines in the city.

Mexican food lovers relished every bit of the variety ranging from tacos, nachos, burritos, cheese balls, meatballs, mole pablano de pollo (chicken), mexican green rice, arroz blanco (rice with veggies), Mexican cinnamon brownie with ice cream and arroz con heche (rice pudding).
The food fest was organised under the guidance of the hotel management department which is headed by Dr Jyotsna Patil, Ameeta Jharia, Dr Charuta Gajbhiye, Dr Nandita Sapra, Vishakha Shahane, Uday Naseri, Seeba Siria and Rupal Deshmukh.

When Nation Next, the media partner for the Mexican Street food fest, interacted with vice principal Harsha Jharia, she said, “I’m really proud of my students for organising this event so well. Such events give the best exposure and opportunities to the students, which is useful for them in the future.”
