Nagpur painter Dr Vijay Kakde to be conferred upon with a lifetime achievement award in New Delhi

→ Dr Vijay Kakde, an 81-year-old painter from Nagpur, will be conferred upon by a lifetime achievement award in New Delhi by the International Watercolor Society (IWS), India at the 2nd IWS India Biennale 2017 -2018 being held from December 9 to December 2017.

→ At the exhibition, which will be held at the All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society, more than 450 artworks of artists from over 65 countries will be at display. Also, 25 demonstrations from world renowned masters will be exhibited. The masters will also paint a 75 meters long watercolor painting, which is being touted as the ‘World’s longest watercolor painting’.

→ Dr Kakde, who’s a well-known and respected watercolor painter among artists in  Nagpur, is a self-taught painter and has been love with watercolors since the last fifteen years. In the past, he has worked as a freelance illustrator with several dailies. He has also taught fashion illustration at the Nagpur University to post graduate students. He has also penned down a book on fashion illustration for the post graduate students. Interestingly, he has a doctorate in archeology.
