Three Nagpur Police officials to be awarded with the President’s Police Medal on Republic Day

Three Nagpur Police officials will be awarded with the President's Police Medal on the occasion of Republic Day on January 26, 2018.

Three Nagpur Police officials – Senior Police Inspector Sunil Darshrath Mahadik (MIDC Police Station), Sub-inspector Mataprasad Rampal Pande (Traffic Police) and Sunil Vishnupant Lokhande (Chief Intelligence Officer, Nagpur Police) will be awarded with the President’s Police Medal on the occasion of Republic Day on January 26, 2018. 795 Indian police personnel will be rewarded with medals on Republic Day for Gallantry (107), Distinguished Service (75) and Meritorius Service (613).

Mahadik, who basically hails from Ukkargaon, Ahmednagar district, joined the police force in 1996 as a sub-inspector. An agriculture graduate, Mahadik comes from a family of farmers and has previously been rewarded with close to 700 awards for his service. He has worked in places like Mumbai and Sangli with different departments of police.

Pande too has been rewarded with close to 150 awards for his service over the years. Pande, who basically hails from Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, joined Nagpur Police as a constable in 1979. Over the years, he has worked in several departments of the Nagpur Police.
