‘Padmavat’ to release all over India except Rajasthan on January 25

While 'Padmavat' will release all over India on January 25, Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje has announced that the film won't be released in her state.
‘Padmavat’ starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor will release all over India except Rajasthan on January 25, 2018.

The controversy over director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Padmavati, which was renamed as Padmavat post CBFC’s (Central Board of Film Certification) suggestion, just does not seem to end. While the film is finally going to release all over India on January 25, 2018, Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje on Monday announced that the film won’t be allowed a screening in her state.

In a statement, Raje said that Padmavat will not be screened in any theatres in Rajasthan and that the decision was taken to respect the sentiments of people of in her state. She also stated that for Rajasthan Rani Padmini is not just a history chapter but a matter of self-esteem. Raje has directed Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria to make sure that the movie is not screened in any theatre in the state.

Padmavat starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor will clash at the box office with Akshay Kumar’s Padman, which is also going to release on January 25, 2018.
