Nagpur based NGO Parindey Youth Foundation is undertaking a raddi donation drive to gather funds for its annual flagship event ‘Navtej’ meant for the underprivileged kids. The day-long event Navtej 2017, which has Nation Next as its media partner, will be organised on October 15, 2017 at Agrasen Bhavan, Ravi Nagar, Nagpur. Parindey Youth Foundation, which was founded in 2011, has been organising Navtej since 2013 .

Speaking about Navtej, Avi Agrawal, the founder president of the NGO says, “Diwali is basically a time when many schools and colleges host cultural events and families are in festive spirits. However, there is a huge part of our society which is devoid of any celebration and cultural activity. Keeping this in mind, we started conducting Navtej five years back. At Navtej, around 400 underprivileged kids from orphanages, red light area and special care homes, participate and perform to celebrate Diwali. It’s like a cultural day for these kids. We organise dance, singing, painting, rangoli and various other competitions. For teaching these kids singing and dancing, we also provide them with mentors.”

Informing about the paper waste donation drive, Avi adds, “We are undertaking a raddi donation drive to raise funds for Navtej. We are visiting schools and colleges and asking students to help us collect paper waste. Also, our volunteers are also going door to door for the drive. If somebody wants to donate raddi to us for this noble cause, they can simple call us and we will collect it from them or we will guide them as to where they can drop the paper waste. Those who want to help us monetarily or in kind are also welcome to do it.”
