Rahul Agrekar’s murderer nabbed in Kolkata; another accused still at large

→ Pankaj Harode, one of the prime accused in the Rahul Agrekar murder case, was nabbed by Nagpur Crime Branch officials at Kolkata on Tuesday midnight. Harode was reportedly staying at a lodge in Kolkata. Crime Branch officials are expected to return to Nagpur with Harode by Thrusday. The second accused, Durgesh Bokde, however, is still at large.

→ Rahul Agrekar, who was involved in his family lottery business, was abducted by the accused a week back, who then demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore. Rahul was then murdered by the accused.

→ After Rahul’s murder, police found a charred body at Petichuha near Butibori. The body was identified as Rahul’s body by the police based on the belongings on the body. Rahul’s family before cremating the body told the police that it was not Rahul’s body as the height of the body didn’t match Rahul’s height. This claim by the Agrekars has been now been put to rest as the DNA report has confirmed that the charred body was indeed Rahul’s body.

→ Crime Branch is now searching for Bokde and it is only after the interrogation of Harode, it can ascertain the motive behind the murder and also ascertain whether there were some more people involved in the crime.
