Sandeep Lamichhane, a 17-year-old leg-spinner from Nepal, on Sunday became the first ever cricket player from Nepal to be picked up in the IPL auction.

Sandeep Lamichhane, a 17-year-old leg-spinner from Nepal, created history on Sunday as he became the first ever cricket player from Nepal to be picked up in the IPL auction. Sandeep was acquired by Delhi Daredevils at his base price of Rs 20 lakh.

Sandeep came in the limelight during the ICC U-19 World Cup 2016, after becoming the second-highest wicket taker as he clinched 14 wickets in six innings for Nepal. He also got a hat-trick in a match against Ireland, in which he clinched five wickets for the loss of 27 runs.
