Ending months of speculation Superstar Rajinikanth today announced his entry into politics at a marriage hall in Chennai. He also informed that he will be forming a new political party and that his party will be contesting from all 234 seats in next assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

Addressing people at the hall, the 67-year-old actor said, “Over the last one year, Tamil Nadu has become a laughing stock for people of other states. My decision is the need of the hour. If I do not take this decision now, I’ll feel guilty later.” He also said that he’s not entering politics for a position and that if he wanted one, he would have got it in 1996 itself. He said that he’s entering politics to change the system and clean the democracy, which has been corrupted.
