Nagpur art lovers were seen having a chilled out time at a wine and cheese evening with artist Vijendra Vij organised at Gallery Mayfive recently. Vijendra Vij who basically hails from Allahabad has showcased his paintings in numerous exhibitions in New Delhi in the last 22 years. This was his first visit to Nagpur wherein he showcased around 25 paintings based on the theme  – ‘Delusions of Midnight’.

While speaking to Nation Next, Vijendra Vij shared the idea behind the theme ‘Delusions Of Midnight’. Vijendra said, “Through my paintings, I usually try to describe the surroundings a common person lives in. In the ‘Delusions of Midnight’ paintings, I have tried to described the various things which run on the mind of a person at the time of midnight. These things are meaningless but are interesting as well. I spent sleepless nights for making these paintings just to give them an exact feel of the – ‘Delusions of Midnight!’”

Virendra also spoke about his experience in Nagpur as he said, “This is my first visit to Nagpur and I think the art lovers here are very genuine, sensible and down to earth.”
