Post Rajneesh Gurbani’s six-wicket haul and captain Faiz Fazal’s fifty, senior cricketer Wasim Jaffer took Vidarbha to a comfortable position on Day 2 of the Ranji Trophy final against Delhi as he scored a unbeaten half-century. At the end of the day’s play, Vidarbha’s total stood at 206 at the loss of four wickets. Jaffer was unbeaten at 61 accompanied by Akshay Wakhare who came in to bat after Apoorv Wankhede was dismissed by Delhi bowler Kulwant Khejroliya at 28.

Rajneesh, who earlier in the day became the second bowler to clinch a hat-trick in a Ranji Trophy final, at the end of the day told the reporters, “I’m happy with my performance and satisfied to realise that I contributed. It’s every fast bowler’s dream to take a hat-trick and a five-wicket haul in a big match like a Ranji Trophy final.”
