Nagpur: In what can be called as shocking and beyond comprehension, a wedding celebration in Nagpur turned ugly as two groups of men indulged in a fight over their ‘favourite song’ during a DJ party. The incident took place at Aman Lawns in Kalamna on Monday where the wedding was being held place.

One of the three men (all residents of Prem Nagar) – Shubham Soni (21), Manoj Soni (24) and Rahul Babusingh Bhati (22) – who were arrested the following day was a history sheeter who had three criminal cases registered against him. While all the accused were groom’s friends, all five including – deceased Nikhil Haridas Lokhande (29), injured – Sonu Shahu, Monu Kamble, Vickey Dongre and Akash Lokhande, were invited by the bride’s family.

At around 9 pm, during the wedding, the two groups indulged in a war of words after they objected to a song that was being played by the DJ. That’s when Shubham Soni threatened Lokhande with dire consequences.

Soni, who left the dance floor, only to return after an hour with his friends, attacked Lokhande and his friends who were dancing with sharp-edged weapons. Lokhande, who was stabbed in his stomach, lay in a pool of blood after he fell on the dance floor. Lokhande along with his four other friends was rushed to a hospital where the former was brought dead. The four injured are now said to be stable. A case has been registered against the accused.
