In a horrific incident, a 10-year-old mentally challenged girl was gang raped and later murdered by her brother and his three friends in Manoharpur area of Jaipur. All the four boys are in their early 20s. The girl had gone missing on May 17, and her body was found on May 21 following which, the four accused were arrested on May 23.
ACP Sulesh Choudhary, investigating officer of the case, told TOI, “On May 18, the girl’s parents had registered a missing complaint. The girl was mentally challenged and could not even speak or do routine tasks on her own.” After the case was registered, over 100 cops were deployed to find the girl. The cops were however were clueless for three days as no one had seen the girl after she went missing around 4pm on May 17.
Shankar Dutt Sharma, SP, Jaipur Rural additionally informed, “The family was reluctant to give us straight answers. We found their statements contradicting. We searched for the girl in the forest area as well suspecting that the family would have killed and buried her there.”
Sharma added that after three days the girl’s family themselves brought the clothes, which she had worn on the day she went missing from the forest. After FSL teams were deployed, the police finally discovered the girl’s body in the forest. Using call records of the likely suspects, the cops nabbed the four accused, which included the victim’s brother, who later confessed to the crime.
As per reports, the girl’s brother and his three friends had taken her to the secluded area to probably kill her but decided to take advantage of the situation and rape her. She was later strangled to death.
