10-year-old Nagpur girl Fatima Shafiq became the youngest girl in her expedition group to cycle 573 kms from Goa to Mumbai through Konkan, Malvan, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri and Raigad districts in just nine days. Fatima went for the excursion along with her family members – parents Hasan and Sarah along with their 14-year-old daughter Batul – who too pedaled their way to Mumbai within the same time period.

Santosh Shirke of Mumbai and Ramesh Kene (Chief Coordinator and Tour Manager at Youth Hostels Association of India) led the expedition, which was organised by YHAI. The expedition began from Panaji in Goa on December 23. While Fatima was the youngest, 56-year-old Balasao Choughule from Mumbai was the oldest.
