It’s a well-known fact that traffic police plays an important role when it comes to transportation of live organs for saving lives through organ transplant. While the organ transplant process is itself complicated, transportation of live organs is a difficult task as well. And, traffic police personnel are the unsung heroes, who carry out the task and create a green corridor, thereby saving lives in the process!
Committing themselves to saving lives yet again, 115 personnel from Nagpur Traffic Police along with DCP (Crime) Gajanan Rajmane and Assistant Commissioner Chakshupal Bahadure pledged to donate organs during a program conducted at Police Gymkhana in Civil Lines on Monday.
Prominently present during the event were Nagpur Police Commissioner Dr BK Upadhyay, Dr Vibhavari Dani (President, Zonal Transplant Coordination Centre, Nagpur), Dr Ravi Wankhede (Secretary) and other officials from Nagpur Police. Dr Wankhede spoke about the important role of traffic police while creating green corridors for timely transplant of organs.
DCP Rajmane, while addressing the gathering, said that it is always a proud moment for the police to create green corridor for transport of organs and traffic police always tries to ensure that minimum time is taken for transportation of live organs.
