Yadav’s family informed the police that earlier this year, he had been approached by unidentified men who had told him that he had been selected for a reality show. Yadav had paid Rs one lakh to the middleman to secure a part in the show.

The middleman told Yadav in July that he was going to be a part of the show. However, around one week ago, Yadav had been informed by the middleman that he had not been selected for the show.
