Devendra Fadnavis

Three days after swearing in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon said he’s going to submit his resignation to the Governor of Maharashtra. Fadnavis said that the BJP doesn’t have the majority to form the government. Ajit Pawar too resigned as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered a floor test on Wednesday in the assembly for proving majority in the House to form government.

Fadnavis in the press conference said:

⇒People from Matoshree (Shiv Sena) begged in front of Oppositon (Congress-NCP) to form government.

⇒Ajit Pawar had approached me.

⇒We’ve decided not to form government; will submit my resignation to the governor.

⇒I thank the people of Maharashtra. We provided an able administration in the past 5 years.

⇒We don’t have the numbers.

⇒We’ll sit in Opposition.
