At 47.4˚C, Chandrapur is the hottest city in India

As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature in Chandrapur was recorded as 47.4 degree celcius on May 18, making it the hottest city in India.

As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature in Chandrapur was recorded as 47.4 degree Celsius on May 18, making it the hottest city not just in Vidarbha, but the entire country. The temperature in Nagpur was recorded as 45.5 degree Celsius making it one of the hottest cities in India.

As per IMD, in the next five days, maximum temperatures are likely to rise by 1-2 celcius over West and adjoining Northwest and central India, leading to heat wave conditions in some places in Vidarbha and one or two pockets over Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

In what can be a good news for people in Vidarbha, as per a report in a daily, IMD has predicted that monsoon will arrive this year in Vidarbha on June 8, which is a week earlier as compared to normal circumstances.
