5 women special e-bus ‘Tejaswini’ launched in Nagpur; to have only women conductors and drivers

    Nagpur Mayor Nanda Jichkar recently launched five women special e-buses ‘Tejaswini,’ which are ready to ply on city roads.

    Nagpur Mayor Nanda Jichkar launched five women special e-buses ‘Tejaswini,’ which are ready to ply on city roads. Deepraj Pardikar, Deputy Mayor at Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) told Nation Next  that the buses would strictly have women conductors and drivers.

    Pardikar said, “The routes, on which the e-buses would currently operate, are Sitabuldi-YCCE College, Sitabuldi-Defence, Sitabuldi-Koradi, Sitabuldi-Butibori MIDC and Sitabuldi-Pipla Fata. The buses, that would have public announcements facility, would conduct 75 trips from 7am to 10pm. 

    He added, “With a capacity of over 50 passengers, once the buses are charged, they would be able to run up to 200 kms. Panic button along with CCTV facility have been set up in case of emergency. The buses that have automatic doors, have been provided with mobile charging points at each window seat.
