6 employees of Mumbai’s Taj Hotel test positive for COVID-19

Six employees of Taj Hotel chain, which includes Taj Mahal Palace and Taj Mahal Towers hotel in South Mumbai’s Colaba tested positive for Coronavirus on Sunday.

Indian Hotels Company (IHC) in a statement, said, “Most of the employees were asymptomatic, showing no absolute signs of illness, and they were tested proactively. The staff, which had been tested positive and symptomatic were duly hospitalised and others who were in contact with them have immediately been put in quarantine.”

The consulting physician at Bombay Hospital, Dr Gautam Bhansali said, “Six Taj hotel employees are being treated at Bombay Hospital and they have tested positive. They are recovering and are stable now.”

A senior police official said the hotel’s housekeeping employees had been catering to doctors and medical staff from some hospitals for a while.
