647 COVID-19 cases in India in last 2 days related to Tablighi Jamaat meet in Nizamuddin: Health Ministry

Health Ministry spokesperson Lav Agarwal said that 647 COVID-19 cases found in India in last two days are linked to Tablighi Jamaat meet organised in Delhi.

Union Health Ministry spokesperson Lav Agarwal on Friday said that 647 COVID-19 cases found in the country in the last two days are linked to the Tablighi Jamaat meet organised in Delhi’s Nizamuddin.

These 647 case have been reported from 14 Indian states namely Andaman and Nicobar, Assam, Delhi, Himachal, Haryana, J&K, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tami Nadu, Telangana, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.

It is being reported that more than 9,000 contacts of people who attended the Tablighi Jamaat meet have been quarantined and police from different states is trying to find those who may have come in contact with the Jamaatis.
