8 feared dead, 43 injured after cylinders explode at chemical unit in Dhule

    At least eight workers are said to be killed and several injured in explosion of cylinders at a chemical factory at Dhule in Maharashtra.

    At least eight workers are said to be killed and 43 injured in explosion of cylinders at a chemical factory at Dhule in Maharashtra. During the explosion, at least 100 workers were present inside the factory, located in Waghadi village in Shirpur taluka, when the incident occurred around 9:45 am on Saturday (August 31, 2019).

    Shirpur police station officer told PTI, “Prima facie, multiple cylinders exploded at the factory. Police and rescue teams have recovered at least eight bodies so far. Rescue operation is on.”

    Various teams of police, disaster management and fire brigade are conducting rescue operations at the site.
