Nagpur IRS officer, singer Rajesh Dhabre pays musical tribute to Lord Buddha on Buddha Purnima

Singer Rajesh Dhabre paid a musical tribute to Gautam Buddha on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. Dhabre, who’s also an IRS officer, has been highly influenced by the teachings of Lord Buddha. Currently the managing director of Lidcom (Leather Industries Development Corporation of Maharashtra), Dhabre has previously served as the Additional Commissioner of Customs in Mumbai.

In the year 2010, Dhabre composed and released an album ‘Buddha Hi Buddha Hain’ reflecting the teachings of Lord Buddha. The album brought together top musicians like Sonu Nigam, Shankar Mahadevan, Hariharan, Alka Yagnik and Suresh Wadkar to sing songs composed by Dhabre.

The IRS officer joined a unique league in 2013, when legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar sung the song ‘Buddham Saranam Gachhami’ for the album ‘Siddhartha The Lotus Blossom’ composed by Rajesh Dhabre. For the album, along with Mangeshkar, Shaan, Asha Bhosle, Pankaj Udhas and Anup Jalota lent their voices for different songs.
