A day after 300 cars caught fire in Bengaluru, over 170 cars gutted in fire at Chennai

A day after 300 cars caught fire in Bengaluru, over 170 cars were gutted in fire in a parking space at Chennai opposite Ramachandra Medical College in Porur today afternoon. The fire broke out in the 32-acre parking lot of a private taxi operator. However so far, no casualty has been reported.

 It is said that the fire might have been caused due to a spark from a burning heap of garbage but the exact cause is yet to be ascertained. Around 50 fire fighters from Poonamallee, Avadi and St Thomas Mount rushed to the spot to douse the fire. Apart from this, six fire trucks were also present at the spot.
