Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan made a startling revelation during a media interaction that he was paid Rs 11,000 for Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (QSQT). Aamir, who’s recent films have crossed the mark of 300 crores and is being paid in crores per movie, said that he didn’t have money to buy a car despite QSQT being a hit. He said that he would use public transport until people starting mobbing him after he gradually became a known face.
Aamir, who earned 1,000 per month for his first film QSQT, said, “I do believe that the sensibility of the audience has been changing from past 30 years since I’m acting. I know that if films like Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar were made today, they would be huge hits at the box office. These are the kinds of movies that people love today.”
The Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan actor said, “I did films I believed in but the market didn’t believe in those films. Only a few of us did. I was constantly swimming against the tide. But now the time has changed as such films are considered mainstream.”
Feels just like yesterday….can’t believe it’s been 30 years.
