Bollywood’s one of the most popular singers, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, has landed in soup yet again. On Tuesday (May 23), social networking site Twitter suspended his account as he posted a series of offensive tweets against a woman including a JNU student activist Snehla Rashid as per PTI.
Abhijeet targeted Rashid by tweeting, “There is rumour she took money for two hours and didn’t satisfy the client… big racket.” Once the singer’s twitter account was suspended, Rashid wrote, “Sincere thanks to everyone for the support. Abhijeet had to delete his tweet. His Twitter account has also been suspended.”
Abhijeet Bhattacharya while speaking to PTI blamed author Arundhati Roy and people supporting JNU to be behind the suspension of his account. He further said, “I just saw it. They are trying to block Paresh Rawal as well. All Arundhati and JNU group are behind this after Paresh Rawal and I tweeted against Arundhati for her anti-India stand.”
On asking about getting back to Twitter, Abhijeet told PTI, “I (don’t) care a damn… entire nation is with me.”
However, despite Abhijeet’s tweets, some Twitter users have extened their support with #IStandWithAbhijeet.
Sincere thanks to everyone for the support. Abhijit had to delete his tweet.
His Twitter account has also been suspended. 🙂
