ACB nabs Hudkeshwar Police Head Constable for accepting bribe of Rs 20,000

    The state ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau), on Tuesday, arrested Head Constable Sanjay Gaidhane from Hudkeshwar Police Station in Nagpur for accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from an accident accused. Gaidhane was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from the accused at Sanskrutik Bhavan Square.

    As per reports, a man named Nishant Nagulkar was booked in an accident case on December 28, 2018. Nagulkar, who was driving the car, was accompanied by his cousin Rahul Chikulwar. Following the accident, a case of negligent  and rash driving was registered at Imanwada Police Station. As the accident had happened within the jurisdiction of Hudkeshwar Police, the case was later transferred there and Gaidhane was assigned as the investigating officer.

    The car, as per reports, was owned by Chikulwar. The reports also state that Gaidhane was demanding bribe from Nagulkar to let go of additional charges. Nagulkar and Chikulwar approached the ACB after which ACB officials laid the trap and caught Gaidhane red handed accepting the bribe from Nagulkar and Chikulwar at Sanskrutik Bhavan square. An offence has been registered against Gaidhane at Hudkeshwar Police Station.
