Marathi film and TV actress Nishigandha Wad was in Nagpur recently to deliver a lecture on ‘Explore the menu of healthy thaali of relationships’ organised as a part of the SGR Knowledge Series by the SGR Knowledge Foundation at Chitnavis Centre, Nagpur. Also present at the lecture was Dr Rajan Welukar, Vice Chancellor, GH Raisoni University.
Wad, in her address spoke about how different relationships in life can be maintained and properly preserved. She stressed upon maintaining relationships being a two-way process in order to make life meaningful and happy. Wad said that any relationship in life should stand the test of time. If misunderstandings with family, spouse or friends are resolved with a dialogue, it can act as a refreshing change in an otherwise mundane life.
The actress also stressed upon the need of giving sufficient time and energy to relationships and to accept the other person the way he/she is. These two elements help in developing any relationship and in instilling an understanding and respect for one another. Talking about the need of communication between parents and kids, Wad said that parents should trust their kids so that they know what they are expected to do.
In old age, it’s not the materialistic comforts but the sweet words which make life happier, said Wad. She added that sharing sweet words can make a lot of difference and that nobody should take their life partner for granted. While taking important decisions of life, irrespective of contrasting views, people should value each other’s opinion.
