Ajay Devgn to play ‘Chanakya’ in Neeraj Pandey’s next film

Versatile actor Ajay Devgn who was last seen in the movie ‘Raid,’ will be portraying the role of the great thinker – Chanakya – in director Neeraj Pandey’s next film.

Pandey, who is known for directing films like Special 26, Baby, MS Dhoni: The untold Story, etc., will be collaborating with Devgn for the first time. Speaking about working with Pandey, Devgn in a statement, said, “I am truly looking forward to playing Chanakya. I’ve followed Neeraj Pandey’s work closely and I know Neeraj will tell this story with the clarity and passion with which it needs to be told.”

Commenting on the film, Pandey in a statement said, “I have been developing this film on Chanakya for quite some time now. It’s an exciting work of passion for me, and I am sure the audiences will love Ajay in his portrayal of the visionary genius.”

Neeraj Pandey’s film about Chanakya will be produced by Reliance Entertainment and Friday Filmworks’ Plan C Studios. Meanwhile, Devgn is on signing spree. The actor has recently signed Total Dhamaal and will also be seen in Sons of Sardaar: The Battle of Saragrahi and Luv Ranjan’s untitled film with Ranbir Kapoor.
