Ajni Station to be India’s best railway station, claims Nitin Gadkari

    With a sanction of nearly 1000 crore, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday said that Nagpur’s Ajni Station would be the country’s best railway station.

    With a government sanction of nearly 1000 crore, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday said that Nagpur’s Ajni Station would be the country’s best railway station. He assured that once the National Highway Authority of India’s (NHAI) inter-modal station is ready, Ajni Station would become India’s best railway station.

    The NHAI is going to develop an integrated rail, bus and metro station at Ajni station. Apart from this, a multi-level underground parking of around 3600 cars, expansive waiting rooms, budget and premium hotels, commercial complexes, food court would also be developed at the station.

    NHAI has also planned to acquire the area of Ajni railway colony and medical staff colony for the ambitious project. The area of Central Jail would also be used for developing various facilities hence Maharashtra government has planned to build a new jail near Mouda.

    The Union Minsiter also informed that Pune-Nagpur Garibrath, Nagpur-Pune Garibrath, Nagpur-Kolhapur Express, Kolhapur-Nagpur Express, Nagpur-Secundarabad Express and Secundarabad-Nagpur Express would halt at Ajni station.
