Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said that Rajput king Maharana Pratap was great and not Mughal emperor Akbar. The cm during Maharana Pratap Jayanti said that Pratap was truly a great leader who displayed great courage and faced the mighty Mughal Army.

Referring to the 1576 Haldighati battle, which was won by the Mughals, the cm said that it’s important who won the Battle of Haldighati but who fought against the most powerful army then. “It was proved that it is was not Akbar, but Maharana Pratap who was great,” Yogi said.

Adityanath also added that the Rajput king and his deeds are still relevant even after 500 years after his death. He also claimed that even today some people are ready to damage their own society, culture, and country for their benefits and then suffer damage.
