Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav claimed that he is looking for a rented flat in Lucknow ever since he was asked to vacate the government bungalow. The Samajwadi Party President has asked for a period of two years to find a suitable residence due to his family requirements and large security detail. Akhilesh’s father former UP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav has also been asked to vacate his official residence.

“Being an ex-CM, the administration has also provided me the Z-plus security cover (including NSG commandos), for which I need adequate space also. Being the current National President of Samajwadi Party, I have visitors,” Akhilesh said in the letter sent to UP estate officer Yogesh Shukla as per TOI.

However, unlike the former CM, Mayawati owns a huge private bungalow near her official residence on Mall Avenue road, which she bought few years ago. Her five acres private residence is said to be equally huge as her current official residence. A 10-bedroom residence, it boasts of Rajasthan sandstone and pink marble. Mayawati after getting the notice to vacate her official residence, converted it into a memorial by adding a signboard ‘Shri Kanshi Ramji Memorial Rest House.’
