Akshay Kumar donates Rs 1.08 crore to the families of martyred jawans

Akshay Kumar has donated Rs 1.08 crore to the families of twelve martyred jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar continues to do his bit for the martyred jawans of the 219 battalion who were killed in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district by a group of the Naxals in the area’s Bheji village on March 11, 2017. Akshay has donated Rs 1.08 crore to the families of twelve martyred jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Akshay who has been regularly in touch with IPS officer Amit Lodha, DIG, Jaisalmer sector north, enquired about the incident and asked Lodha to share details of the martyred jawans. Soon after reading the details, Akshay expressed his wish to donate Rs 9 lakh each to the families of the jawans.

In the past as well, Akshay has been very vocal about the sacrifices our soldiers make on the war front and by doing what he did, Akshay has proved that when he expresses his love for soldiers, they are not just mere words.

We certainly need more people like you Akshay!
