Amid Corona scare, Noida youngster shot for ‘coughing’ while playing Ludo in temple

As coughing, fever and breathless have been identified as some of the basic symptoms of COVID-19, a 30-year-old man allegedly shot a 25-year-old in a temple in Dayanagar at Greater Noida after the latter coughed during a game of Ludo. The incident took place at 9 pm on Tuesday where in the injured Prashant Singh alias Pravesh, was hospitalised, while the accused Jai Veer Singh alias Gullu (30) is yet to be arrested.

As per PTI, “Prashant and three others were playing ludo at the village temple on Tuesday night when Gullu arrived there. An argument broke out between Prashant and Gullu when the former coughed. Gullu got angry thinking he was doing it deliberately. As the argument intensified, Gullu pulled out a pistol and shot at Prashant.”

Singh was rushed to a private hospital and is now said to be in a stable condition. Meanwhile an FIR has been registered against the accused and efforts are on to arrest him.
