Amid lockdown, 26-year-old man kills friend after drunken brawl on road in Nagpur

Amid lockdown, Nagpur Police have arrested a 26-year-old man for killing his friend after a drunken brawl out in the open at a footpath near Sonegoan Police Station on May 27. The accused has been identified as Shashank Gokulrao Muhurle. The deceased, Sunil Sushil Yadav (27), was a close friend of the accused and they knew each other for several years.

As per reports, on Wednesday, Shashank and Sunil had drinks while sitting at a footpath near Om Prakash Tea stall situated under Sonegaon police station. The duo got into a heated arguement while having drinks. The arguement soon turned violent following which Shashank stoned Sunil to death and ran away. A passer-by witnessed the entire incident and immediately informed Sonegaon Police, which immediately rushed to the spot.

Within hours of the murder, Shashank was arrested and a case was registered against him under sections Section 302 of the IPC based on a complaint by Sunil’s wife Sonu Yadav (27). The deceased’s body was sent for post mortem to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) by the cops.
