Indian actress Anushka Sharma will be awarded with the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2018 for her work as a ‘path-breaking’ producer and for backing and promoting films with out-of-the-box and good content.
The 29-year-old actress turned into a producer when she was just 25 years old and was at the peak of her career. Along with her brother Karnesh Sharma, Anushka under the banner Clean Slate Films, produced her first film NH10 in 2015. The duo not only produced films driven by unique content but also empowered young talent by giving them big-ticket breaks as directors, musicians, composers and technicians.
Clean Slate films then produced fantasy comedy film Phillauri (2017) and horror flick Pari (2018). Pari, which got mixed reviews from critics and fans is already set for a Tamil remake.
