Director AR Murugadoss who has directed several south Indian movies and Hindi movies like Ghajini and Holiday: A Solider Is Never Off Duty, has alleged that the 64th National Film Awards jury headed by director Priyadarshan was partial and biased. The director tweeted his disappointment as he wrote:
‘#NationalAwards Can clearly witness the influence & partiality of people in jury, it’s biased.’
The National Awards much like the Filmfare awards, this year, have come under scanner. Many twitter users on the day of the 64th National Film Awards also questioned the decision of rewarding Akshay Kumar with the best actor award for Rustom and best Hindi film award to Neerja, sidelining actors like Aamir Khan and Nawazuddin Siqqiqui and movies like Dangal and Aligarh.
Meanwhile, Aligarh’s director Hansal Mehta too expressed his disappointment on twitter but at the same time congratulated all the winners at the 64th National Film Awards.
Can clearly witness the influence & partiality of people in jury, it’s biased.
