Union Minister Arun Jaitley was discharged from AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) on Monday after a successful kidney transplant. The minister, in a tweet, expressed his happiness on returning home and also thanked the staff at AIIMS for taking good care of him.
Delighted to be back at Home. My gratitude to the Doctors, Nursing officers and the paramedics who looked after me for over the past three weeks. I wish to thank all well-wishers, colleagues and friends who were very concerned and continued to wish me for my recovery.

Jaitley, 65, was admitted at AIIMS on May 12 and underwent a kidney transplant on May 14. After being at the hospital from nearly three weeks, Jaitley was discharged today. The doctors, however, will keep visiting the minister’s house regularly to monitor his condition.
Arun Jaitley is expected to start working soon and resume his duties as the finance minister by mid-July. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal is holding an additional charge of the finance ministry in Jaitley’s absence.
