The problems for Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal do not seem to end. On one hand, he’s involved in a legal battle against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and on the other hand, sacked AAP minister Kapil Mishra continues to accuse Kejriwal of corruption. Mishra a few days back had said that Kejriwal is involved in a ‘hawala scam.’ The Delhi CM finally broke his silence yesterday at the Aam Aadmi Party convention in New Delhi, as he dismissed the corruption allegations leveled against him by Mishra. Kejriwal said, “I would have been in jail if there had been any truth in the allegations made against me.”

Mishra reacting to Kejriwal’s statement, wrote in a Facebook post that, “Even Sheila Dixit, Kalmadi and Dawood Ibrahim are not in jail.” He also accused Kejriwal of giving no explanation concerning his relatives’ involvement in corruption and allegations of hawala against him. Mishra called this Kejriwal’s ‘new avatar.’

Addressing his party workers, Kejriwal yesterday said, “There has been a major attack against our campaign over the last few days. This is happy news because it means our opponents view us as the greatest threat to them.” Referring to Mishra, Kejriwal added, “It hurts a lot when your own people betray you.”
