‘Pakistan expert’ Samant Goel new RAW chief; ‘Kashmir expert’ Arvind Kumar to head Intelligence Bureau

    Govt. appointed Samant Goel as the new Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) chief and Arvind Kumar the head of Intelligence Bureau (IB) today.

    Narendra Modi government appointed IPS officer Samant Goel as the new Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) chief of India. Apart from Goel, the government also made Arvind Kumar the head of Intelligence Bureau (IB) today.

    While Goel, who is considered a Pakistan expert in the RAW, was the key strategist in the Balakot airstrike in February. On the other hand, Kumar is considered as an expert in matters related to Kashmir.

    Both the IPS officers belonging to 1984 batch, Kumar and Goel, would replace Rajiv Jain and succeed Anil Dhasmana respectively.
