Bharat Petroleum starts its first electric car battery station in Nagpur

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), on July 28, started its first electric car battery charging station at one of its outlets in Nagpur near Kalamna. BPCL, on the same day, also started a captive use plant at one its petrol pumps in Bazargaon on Nagpur – Amravati highway, thereby making it the first oil marketing company to venture into the biogas segment. Arun Singh (Executive Director, Retail, BPCL), was present during both the occasions.

During the inauguration at Bazargoan, Singh informed that BPCL plans to set up around 100 captive use plants throughout India in the next one year. BPCL also plans to produce CNG (compressed natural gas) through biogas.
