60 Seconds Story: BJP announces Nanda Jichkar as the new Mayor of Nagpur

Former Nagpur mayor and MLC Anil Sole announced today that Nanda Jichkar who defeated city congress chief Vikas Thakre will be the next mayor of Nagpur.

→ After nominations were filed for the post of Nagpur city Mayor and Deputy Mayor, former Nagpur mayor and MLC Anil sole announced the names of next Nagpur Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Ruling Party Leader, and Chairman of Standing Committee at Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Civil Lines, Nagpur.

→ Sole said that, he along with MLA and BJP city president Sudhakar Kohale and Dr Upendra Kothekar sought opinions from everybody about the posts within the party and informed Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra and Cabinet Minister Nitin Gadkari about it under whose guidance BJP won a staggering 108 seats out of 151 seats.

→ Sole announced that Nanda Jichkar who contested from Ward – 37 and defeated the city Congress chief Vikas Thakre and Pragya Pannase of Congress in the same ward will be the next mayor of Nagpur. This year the post for Mayor in NMC was reserved for woman for general category.

→The Deputy Mayor, Ruling party leader, and Standing Committee chairman will be Deepraj Pardikar, Sandeep Joshi and Sandeep Jadhav respectively.

→ Sole said that after the elections on March 5, 2017, the new mayor, deputy mayor, ruling party leader and standing committee chairman will take charge of their posts and NMC’s functioning under the new team will start from March 6, 2017.
