BJP MLA M Jayaram from Karnataka defied rules of the lockdown as he celebrated his 51st birthday on April 10 at a village in Tumkuru District during a party thrown by him and attended by hundreds of guests. At the party, social distancing went for a toss as people mingled while wishing the MLA and having food.
The BJP leader wore a turban and white hand gloves, while cutting the cake during the party, which included many children as well. The birthday was reportedly celebrated in a house compound at Ankalakuppe village in Gubbi taluka. Hundreds of the MLA’s supporters also gathered at the party to felicitate him.
As Jayaram’s birthday coincided with the Hanuman Jayanti function, food was served to the people who gathered at the Anjaneya Swamy temple in the adjacent Manikuppe village. Social distancing went for a toss when food was served and the villagers made a bee-line to grab the food packets.
